East Pole Coffee Co.

A project I’m honored to have been involved with since its inception, East Pole Coffee Co. is a speciality coffee roaster-retailer based out of Atlanta, GA. Over the course of the last couple years I’ve worked with their team to design their logo, various packaging, t-shirts, websites, and a few campaigns in-between.

East Pole is scheduled to open a brick-and-mortar location this summer, which means I’m busy at work designing everything from external signage to menus and cups and beyond.

Branding
Logo

When I joined forces with East Pole, they were still a garage operation piecing together everything they could. Their logo was only in rubber stamp form at the time. I was tasked to update the “ship” design and come up with a wordmark that felt more timeless, yet still captured the original spirit of the logo.

Branding
From Atlanta

“From Atlanta” is East Pole’s ongoing campaign supporting and helping grow Atlanta’s coffee community. I designed a logomark for this campaign which has subsequently been used on various merchandise, packaging, and online platforms.

Branding
Traffic

Traffic is one of Atlanta’s most dependable experiences. In a city that’s always changing, with weather that’s never predictable, traffic is the constant. Traffic is East Pole’s constant coffee. Though it comes from different coffee producers and origins, depending on what’s in season, you can count on Traffic to always be approachable, easy to drink, full-bodied, and sweet.

Packaging
Coffee Bags

Previous to these bags, East Pole was hand-stamping every kraft bag they sent out–which was labor intensive and didn’t look too great. The goal of the bag redesign was to extend the timeless look of the branding into the packaging. The sticker in the upper-right hand corner allows for coffee-specific personalization.

Packaging
Wholesale Box

As both a way to show appreciation for wholesale customers and drive home their “From Atlanta” campaign, East Pole commissioned a wholesale box that snugly fits two bags of their coffee. This was a particularly fun project–I art directed and collaborated with Atlanta-based illustrator Preston Attebery on the map design.

Interactive
eastpole.store

In order for East Pole to compete in the Atlanta wholesale coffee market, it needed an easy-to-use online ordering system where new accounts could easily be onboarded. This website began as a simple e-commerce website, but as we learned about the needs of East Pole customers, we built custom account types, shipping & payment options, and advanced bulk discounting system.
