Gallo Blanco

Gallo Blanco originally opened in 2009 in the Clarendon Hotel and served the neighborhood for upwards of six years before being forced to close down under unfortunate circumstances. Anyone who had eaten there definitely shed a tear when the news broke.

Doug Robson–chef and owner–was determined to bring back Gallo. He found an old market in a historic building in the Garfield Phoenix neighborhood that would become Gallo’s new home. Work began to build and restore the building and that’s when Doug reached out to me to tackle the new branding and identity.

Re-designing a beloved restaurant and brand was no easy task. We wanted to approach the re-design in a way that wouldn’t alienate the old branding or customer base, but also communicated a sense of newness and excitement.
