The Passport Project

Phoenix Passport

The Phoenix Passport project is a free, printed city guide for the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, unbiased and obsessively curated by those who know it best.

From Project Creator Ryan Cordwell

In February of 2016 I began preliminary design of a small, yellow book; a city guide for Phoenix. I’d asked longtime friend and Walter-Cronkite-trained food and beverage writer, Shelby Moore, to aid in the conception of the project. After nearly a year of preoccupation by Royal & Design, I met with local designer, Alex Leiphart, to come aboard and steer this ship home. Alex spearheaded the refinement of the project, as Moore instilled it with an insider’s scoop, and Michelle Johnson intimately orchestrated its adoption within local businesses. Select lists were contributed by additional advocates of the valley; Geof Newsum, Christopher Galli. We were then fortunate enough to have Tempe artist, Amy Radcliffe hand illustrate the guide’s original cover and script.

October 7, we launched Phoenix Passport Edition 01. I produced 500 copies, and we distributed them for free across a dozen favorites’ shops, breweries and restaurants. They’d cleared by the week’s end.
